I had the opportunity to report on the emotional and psychological challenges faced by Evanston police officers as they navigate the daily demands of their profession. The constant exposure to traumatic incidents, such as death and violence, takes a significant toll on their mental health. In response, the Evanston Police Department joined the nationwide program, giving its officers access to critical resources and support from peers across the country.
